Before COVID-19, small businesses (firms with 500 or fewer employees) provided nearly half of all US private-sector jobs. With Covid-19, small businesses account for 54 percent (30 million) of the jobs most vulnerable during the continuing health crisis, and firms with fewer than 100 employees have been the hardest hit.
As a small business ourselves, we appreciate the enormity of the problem. And like many small businesses, we’ve made significant adjustments to the way we conduct business – from sheltering in place, to what seems like an endless stream of Zoom meetings, to our virtual team cocktail parties on Fridays.
In short, we’re hanging in there despite all the craziness, and we’re getting shit done. We’ve got some big design projects with large clients like AB-InBev and Unilever, and we’re working with some really interesting start-ups like Perfect Day and Sticky.io.
While our focus continues to be primarily on brand creation and package design, we continue to evolve the work we’re doing for our clients – including moving into social content creation and full-blown ad campaigns.
In fact, we’re happy to announce that DDW recently won three SF Addy awards for online videos we created for Decathlon and Perfect Day. And our rebranding efforts on Energizer and TAZO have been featured in GDUSA and The Dieline.
Despite all the Covid-19 craziness, our fundamental approach remains the same. Everything we do at DDW starts with a solid strategic foundation. We call it the Brand Story – that compelling narrative around your brand that encapsulates your strategic brand positioning, your unique value proposition, your purpose, your personality – all that good stuff. Then we bring it to life with fresh Brand Design – which for us is the total brand experience, from your brand name and identity, to packaging, your web site, social, and how your brand behaves in the world at large.
Our clients seem to be pretty happy with the results. You should check out our profile on Clutch, a B2B ratings and agency review platform. DDW has received an average of 4.9 out of 5.0 stars!
A recent example is the work we did for tech start-up Sticky.io. We helped them with their brand story, logo design, a look and feel for their web site, brand guidelines, and an explainer video.
“You could feel that they just valued the partnership, as did we.” – Marketing Director, at Sticky.io.
